Water Rates & Policies

Listed below, you will find the Town of Cayuga current water rates and policies. If you do not find the information you need, please contact our office and we will provide it for you. 

Should you experience a problem with your water, please call the Clerk's Office at 765-492-4103. We will do everything possible to locate the problem with your water service.

Water and sewer customers are billed by mail each month.  Water meters are read around the 1st of the month for the previous month's usage.  Bills are printed on white and green postcards, return the smaller portion of the bill with your payment to ensure proper credit to your account.  If you do not receive a water bill, please call the clerk's office and we can give you the balance due.

Bills are mailed around the 6th of the month, with payments due by the 16th of the month, regardless of if you received a bill or not.  If the 16th falls on a weekend, holiday, or a day the office is closed, then they are due the following business day. Payments not received by the due date are subject to $25 penalty.  Payments not received by the Shut Off date are subject to a $150 reconnect fee and water shut off.

Due now is the actual cost of your water/sewer service and is due on or near the 16th of each month.

Past Due Date is the day after the bill is due.  If you pay after the due date, you will pay the penalty amount.  This is the amount of the bill plus a $25 late fee.

A reconnect fee $150.00 is applied to outstanding bills at the close of business the day before shut off day.

Shut off for non-payment is normally on the 26th of the month. The shut off date will be listed on the bills.  If the bill is not paid by 5:00 p.m. on the last business day before shut off, a $150 reconnect fee is added. If water is shut off for non-payment, the entire bill plus the reconnect fee must be paid in full before water service will be turned back on. 

Your account is not automatically terminated if your service is turned off for non-payment or if you move away from the service location, a bill is still generated monthly until you notify this office requesting water service termination.

$15.00 fee charged on ALL returned checks.

The minimum charge for sewer and water up to 2,500 gallons is $94.90.

Charges for water and sewer over 2,500 gallons are as follows:

Water:

2,501 gallons-13,999 gallons is $4.06 per 1000 gallons.

14,000+ gallons is $4.13 per 1000 gallons.

Sewer:

2,501 gallons is $16.01 per 1000 gallons.

Fees:

Annual Hydrant per Annum- $10.78

Tap Fees:

Residential Water -$650

Non-residential water is the actual cost of making the connection, but not less than $650.

Residential Sewer- $750

Non-residential sewer is the actual cost of making the connection, but not less than $750.

Customer Deposit -$300 ($150/water and $150/sewer)
